One of the focuses at De Boa Academy is challenging our members to become fiercely competitive with themselves. Each day you have the opportunity to be a better version of yourself, how much are you willing to put into it?
Jiu Jitsu is refreshing in the fact that it has a weighted scale in the promotions process that each individual has his or her own criteria for advancement. Example; A 20 year old college wrestler with supreme athleticism and goals of becoming a world champion, will be graded differently than a 45 year old business professional that is fascinated by the techniques and art of Jiu Jitsu. It would be ignorant of an instructor to expect the 45 year old professional to take on the 20 years old Superman in a battle for a belt.
This system of promoting challenges the Jiu Jitsu practitioner to set individual goals, then it is the job of the instructor to assist reaching those goals. Today you can strive to be the best "You" possible!
Jiu Jitsu is a tool for the rest of your life. Our kids program is focusing on this "competition within" this week. We have kids getting ready for Kids Cup and the Clean Slate Tournament at De Boa Academies' Grand Opening. We have kids finishing up their school years with reports cards right around the corner. We have kids making decisions on what to do with their summer breaks. Our goal this week is to set the challenge to be your best "YOU!"
