The most important tool to improve your Jiu Jitsu game is showing up. There is no substitute to mat time and there is a direct correlation between consistency and success.
This past weekend was the Arizona Kids Cup and Copa Bella all female tournament. De Boa made its presence known at both. Dylan Bebee and Seth Rials started off the day for the De Boa Kids Team. Dylan was in a tough Grey Belt Division, he fought hard and showed his improving skills. He was a couple small mistakes away from winning both his matches. Dylan brought home a Bronze Medal! Seth did great, he won his first match and then was out pointed in the finals securing the Silver Medal!
The De Boa Ladies represented at the 3rd Annual Copa Bella and didn't disappoint. Leslie Gardineer and Destiny Cazares both coached the kids in the morning and then kicked butt in the afternoon. Coach Leslie won her division, then went on to take Bronze in the Open Weight. Coach Destiny moved up from her teen blue belt division to take on the adults. She tore through her weight division and the open weight securing Double Gold. Great Job Ladies!
Destiny and Leslie just so happen to be two of our most consistent people on the mat. They come to work hard and get better everyday and their success this weekend was a direct result of hard work. Competition is challenging but it becomes much easier when you prepare correctly.
Hope to see everyone in the Academy this week!
