De Boa's Coach Andy Campas, will be competing this Saturday at IBJJF Masters Worlds in Las Vegas!
Don't let the word "Master" fool you, this is a tough competition with some of the best over 29 years old in the world! Yes...I said 29, in Jiu Jitsu that's considered "Master"
Andy has been training hard and pushing his limit's to prepare for this competition and we are very proud of his hard work and commitment. Training hard is tough on the body and those of us who are not youngsters anymore feel it even more (and for longer) Go get em' Coach Andy and keep the Icy Hot close ;)
For those of you who don't know Andy, here's a little bio on him:
Kids Insructor: Andy Campas
Andy originally started training BJJ in 1998 under Micah Pittman (Nelson Monteiro, Gracie Barra) in San Diego, Ca. he received Blue Belt in 1999 from Micah Pittman. Andy injured himself (herniated disc) in 1999 and didn't train for 10 years. In 2009 he decided to go back to the art/sport he fell in love with and returned to BJJ as a white belt with the goal of one day reaching Black Belt. In 2013, he received his Purple Belt December of 2013 from Giva Santana. Andy strives to learn and teach new techniques to better his own Jiu-Jitsu and the Jiu-Jitsu of his students. Andy provides De Boa students a place where they can better their skills, fitness, and Jiu-Jitsu in a safe, professional and FUN atmosphere. De Boa is proud to have Andy on board in our kids program.
